Hi! I want to begin by saying I've never used the dropper to check for skin, and that technique alone has been a great lesson so THANK YOU!! <3 <3
It makes so much sense to check by the numbers in addition to trusting your eye (I feel like I can't always trust mine, especially after editing for a while). Right now I am editing a newborn session of an Indian family. Would you be able to advise checking by number for darker skin tones?
Is there a way to know the correct numbers for your subjects when they are various ethnicities? Thank you so much.
Hi Nicole! Great question. When I'm working with darker skin tones my spread between the red channel and blue channel is at least a 15-20 point difference with green falling somewhere in the middle (my oldest who is very fair is only 10). Also, the red channel is typically lower (80 or lower). My oldest is typically at around 85 but the darker the skin tone the lower the red channel.Hi! I hope that helps!
