Timeless Clothing & Toys

Timeless Clothing & Toys

This information can also be found in the material downloads. However I've included a few Etsy shops here that I love to purchase timeless clothing from. One of the benefits of purchasing clothing and toys from these stores is that majority of the items photograph well. We also buy local quite often from farmer’s markets and family owned shops.

I just watched your shooting video and really appreciate your effort to get the image without the ugly clutter and colours. I didn't realize that people did that consciously until now! I will sometimes be deterred by an ugly logo-ed shirt or tacky toy when taking a photo. I know that I'll end up deleting it in the end if it isn't capturing a special moment. Almost all the toys we have here, for the kids, are "natural". I prefer the quality of the toys and know that they will last SO much longer. A big pet peeve is plastic toys that end up in the dump the next week. It's worth the effort on so many levels!

I think the natural wood toys remind me of my childhood as well which is another draw. They really do last forever!

Oh man - those Briar Handmade bonnets are just gorgeous. I am sad they only go up to a size 4! I may try to squish one on my girl. Thanks Meg!

just a questions (a little off topic maybe? sorry!) @megnlo - I've been looking for something cute & gender neutral for the new babe coming, and found some perfect PJ's from Mamaowl Wool & Organic  I notice it's not based in the US though - any idea how fast shipping is? I only have a few weeks! I messaged her and she quoted 5-7 days, but that seems crazy fast for overseas! Thanks

I've ordered items overseas and had them arrive in a week... sometimes less! I would go for it

@megnlo Semi related... What are your thoughts on paint colors for walls? I noticed some of yours were pretty dark. I feel like red or green undertones tend to show a lot in some of my photos. Any tips?

Oh I love this topic! Most of the walls in our house are actually white. The reason I wanted them white was because we have dark wood floors, trim and wood beams everywhere. So I thought the contrast would look nice. Some of the rooms are light gray. And one room is a dark teal green. It's one of my favorite colors and I'm now considering painting every room in our house a darker paint color haha.
