I could have posted these in the Milestone exercise because this was the first time he has played in the puddles, but really I was working on changing my perspective while he played! I think he could have done this all day....maybe next time he will actually make a splash in the water!!  Oh, and this was my first time using VSCO presets! I emailed them and got a free sample and would have never thought to bring them in to PS to lower the opacity!! So that right there was HUGE!! I tried to get a cohesive look across all of these but since I am just playing with these presets for the first time I am not sure I accomplished that.

Jennifer these are amazing! Thank you for sharing. I think these are perfectly cohesive. I love them all but my favorite has to be that last one. For starts it's because of the leading line (edge of the road). Amazing compositions. You can really tell you carefully thought about each one.

Also that portrait of your son... it stopped me. So much emotion there.

Wow! Thank you so much for your comments! I loved hearing which one was your favorite!

He is normally a very happy smiley guy and he was having a great time in the puddles but every time I got in close for a headshot he gave me this look! I am loving the VSCO Kodak Gold 100 Portrait LR preset (modified)!!

I'm "cheating" a little and sharing 6 images, instead of just 5. This evening, it was pretty cloudy, but the temperature was pretty nice. So, we went outside to play with some bubbles. All 3 of my little girls wanted to get in on the fun...so that meant a whole lot of photos. Our backyard isn't the most exciting when it comes too "backgrounds". It was challenging to figure out how to position/angle myself (and semi-direct the older girls...there is no way my not-quite-2yo would take direction) to eliminate as many of the distractions in the background as possible. Such a fun time for all.

Here are mine. We've had a difficult week with my son (age 3), especially today when he woke up at 4:45 am and then ended up an ear infection. I was happy to let him run around outside at my in-laws house. They have a little park/field behind them that's filled with pebbles. I just let him do his thing and I tried to keep up, lol!

I loved this challenge - it really reminded me that I've gotten into the horrible habit of doing the same perspective over and over. It was fun to challenge myself! All of these images are SOOC - after the day we've had, I'm just too exhausted to try and edit right now.

Tricia these are all such creative perspectives. I love this exercise because I think it helps me to slow down and think a little bit I just start snapping away. I love each one but my favorite is the forth one down. The composition is amazing.

I'm sorry to hear you have had a tough week Alison. I hope he starts feeling better soon. It looks like he had a great time outside. Parks are an awesome place to get creative with your compositions! I love your images and it's completely ok to share SOOC. I might do that myself because I just don't have much time to edit at the moment. I really love that first image and how the tires frame your son!

We went to the St. Patrick's Day parade in our downtown yesterday. The boys needed something more than the St. Pat's green shirts so we had to go with their soccer sweatshirts that are a bit bright for photos but wanted the green. It was fun to try different compositions and perspectives with them as they enjoyed the parade and donuts.

Thank you so much, Meg! My "mommy heart" loves the first one because all 3 of my girls are in it, clearly having a great time (not an easy thing to capture). But my "photographer heart" loves the 4th one the best, too (the one of my oldest blowing bubbles). I saw your thread about sharing 1 or 2 of our favorite images on the main forum. I'm not sure how I'm going to choose! (Trying to decide between 4 right now.) This breakout has been so wonderful in helping me work toward a couple of my main goals for the year (including learning how to see and use light). I've done several breakouts, and this one is one of the top 2 for me when it comes to really helping push me to the next level. Thank you so much!

Love these Karen! I especially love the detail shot of the doughnut... and now I want a doughnut.  All of these images tell a story. Thank you for sharing!

Loving all the green Melissa! These are all such great perspectives. I love the first image because you get an awesome view of your surroundings and your children look tiny  I'm always a fan of making my children look small. LOVE the last image too! Thank you for sharing!

@megnlo - thanks for your comments - my 365 group went through a week where everyone had donut pictures and it always made me crave one - they are fun to photograph!

Here are my results of the five perspective challenge. We took the pictures in the very early morning before sunrise, as my little son likes to get up early. Our appartement is very bright and as you can see in the background, I got all the blinds closed except one.

I've been MIA. We welcomed our sixth family here at Project Somos (we now have six mamas and 17 children here!) and I put on my doula hat and was at a birth the other day! Today we welcomed 12 volunteers from a high school in Canada and I was able to capture the volunteers reading with our kids!

It's easy to taking reading and books for granted when you live in a country full of wealth and opportunities. Books are hard to come by here and are beyond accessible to the majority of the population. And there are hardly any libraries! Literacy is low and very few people have the opportunity to fall in love with books or reading.

I LOVE seeing our kids enjoying the book collection we are slowly growing. Today the kids had such a great time with our volunteers, reading and playing. I love capturing these moments.

Here are mine  I actually did close some shades for this one which I have never done! There still was quite a bit of light, but it was still fun to play with the shadows a bit even though I still need more.

Love these Jen! Every single angle. The light and framing in the first is gorgeous. The above angle is one of my favorite perspectives and he looks so small... I love it! Gorgeous light in his eyes in the last image. You have a beautiful home

Such gorgeous low light Isabell! I love the image where you are in the frame.  He's getting beautiful catchlights in his eyes in the first. Thank you so much for sharing.

What a beautiful moment Heather. I'm so glad you were able to capture these and I love each of your perspectives but especially that last image. There's so much depth in it and visually it's interesting because there's the quiet moment to the right of the frame and the playful moment in the background.

Ok his hair is just incredible Stefanie! He's so cute! I love the light in these and the dark shadows is totally a preference thing. I tend to gravitate towards very dark shadows but I know some ppl prefer a much brighter scene. I love all of these perspectives but especially the above angle. He's getting gorgeous catchlights in his eyes too.  Thank you so much for sharing.
