Hello! Thank you so much for all the beautiful inspiration!
One special "set-up" does particularly intrigue me and I would love to know more about; I´ve been always wondering: how do you practically set up your shooting together with your baby, in your arms, so that the view appears from above, just like through your eyes (and your hands are put on your baby) or someone else takes the picture?
If there is any trick how to do it by yourself, I would be very grateful to "hear"/see.

Love this question. I've used a tripod and I've also had my husband help. If my husband is home I will most certainly ask him because it's much easier. I adjust my settings, direct him where to stand and have him snap. If I'm using a tripod I extend it as high as it will go, and then angle the camera down. It's easier to get an above angle with a tripod if we are sitting. If we were standing I would prop my tripod on a table or something to have it be even higher. Whenever I get in the frame I typically set my aperture anywhere from 2.5-3.2 since it's easier to grab focus.

I'm happy to try and get a pullback tomorrow if you like

I use my tripod maybe once every two weeks. I don't use it often. I'm not a fan because it often takes time to set up haha. I've set my camera on the table before as well and just propped it with books. My tripod brand is Dolica.

Hi all! I took a phone pullback which I'm going to post in a second. I also wanted to mention a tripod arm extender is another great way to get above self portrait shots. Thank you, @megnlo! Do you have any recommendations for a good (but decent priced) tripod? I have a super old one that I would love to replace. I was trying to get in the frame this afternoon, and my tripod was making things a little more challenging than desired. I saw that you use one by Dolica...but there are so many options. Any specific features I should look for? Any recommendations would really be appreciated!

Yes, I've bought two in the past two years and can't seem to get one that holds my camera with my 24-70 lens on it tilted sideways without slipping.

This is the newest one I have, and I just don't think it's strong enough. Dolica GX600B200 Proline GX Series 60-Inch Aluminum Tripod and Ball Head Combo for DSLR

Honestly I really haven't reached tripods much. I received the one I have when I purchased my 6D. It was part of a packaged deal. I've been so happy with it I haven't felt the need to look for another. It's heavy and durable, I like all the extra safety features when I lock in my camera as well. The specific brand I have is the Proline GX650B204

Wow I know some lenses are heavier than others. My Sigma 35mm is pretty heavy but my tripod seems to hold firm. It's the Proline GX650B204

I have not taken the time to figure out the remote which is terrible because it would make my life 20 times easier

As of right now I use the in-camera timer and I look ridiculous running back and forth.
